Operations

At General Dynamics OTS Scranton Operations, we produce a wide range of projectile metal parts and components for large caliber cannons and artillery, as well as aircraft and naval platforms.
We are the principle Operating Contractor for the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant (SCAAP.)
This facility has been in constant production of metal parts for artillery systems since 1953, ranging in size from 105mm to 8 inch.
Manufacturing operations performed at this site include Forging, Nosing, Heat-Treating, CNC Machining, Phosphate and Painting, as well as Destructive and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
Our expertise in process design and equipment selection continues to exceed the requirements necessary to deliver product of the highest quality on time to our customers.
To date, we have produced and delivered more than 25 million projectile metal parts and components.
In recent years the operations have expanded to some commercial products. These products include tool joints and swivel elbows for the drilling industry.
